Dr. Vachara co-Chair 2014 Global Russia Meeting - Speak on Russia's Changing Economic Outlook
Dr. Vachara co-Chaired the 5th Global Russia Business Meeting in Valencia, Spain on 6-7 April 2014. The meeting was co-hosted by the City of Valencia and supported by several Russian business organizations. At this pivotal time, the Global Russia Business Meeting convened about 300 senior executives to take a practical look at what policies and strategies can support the aspirations of Russian firms and offered an opportunity for an in-depth dialogue between Russian and global business leaders.

Dr. Vachara once again co-Chaired the Horasis Global China Business Meeting, the foremost annual gathering of Chinese business leaders and their global counterparts. Co-hosted by the City of The Hague, The Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion and the China Federation of Industrial Economics, this meeting on China provides an ideal platform to discuss the critical factors behind China's rise to global eminence.

Dr. Vachara hosts ICF Chairman Vibhav Upadhyay
Dr. Vachara hosted Mr. VibhavUpadhyay, Chairman of the India Center Foundation, at a networking luncheon on November 1st at the Pacific City Club. Ambassador Anil Wadhwa was attending as Guest of Honor. Mr. Upadhyay presented India Center, and the vision they have for sustainable development, and how the models they have created in India can be applied in ASEAN and other parts of the world. Mr. Upadhyay further invited participants to attend the India-Japan Global Partnership Summit at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, December 15-18.

Dr. Vachara Phanchet, co-chaired the 4th Horasis Global Russia Business Meeting, held in Limassol, Cyprus on April 14-15. More than 300 senior leaders from business and government met and discussed how recent events have affected Russian businesses. This year's meeting was most opportune and particularly relevant to provide a holistic and timely perspective on the future direction for Russia, as well as for Cyprus' as its dealing with its current financial crisis.
Dr. Vachara shared his insights on how Russia can develop their economy, and encouraged greater economic cooperation with ASEAN.

Horasis held its fourth Annual Meeting in Zurich, 22-23 January, 2013. The Horasis Annual Meeting is the foremost annual gathering of business leaders from emerging and developed markets. Dr. Vachara, a co-Chair of the meeting also chaired a session on resource scarcity and led the panel in a discussion on how the developing world needs to find new models to ensure sustainable development.

PBEC sponsored the Asian Financial Forum (AFF) for the 5th consecutive year on 14-15 January at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. In this two-day event, AFF focused on the lingering sovereign debt crisis in the Eurozone, a tepid recovery in the US, and the slowdown in emerging markets.

PBEC Chairman Emeritus Dr. Vachara Phanchet was invited from Bangkok to share his input on China-ASEAN business cooperation. Dr. Vachara shared his input on the business opportunities that come with the creation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) which is slated to take effect at the end of 2015. With China becoming an increasing investor in the global economy, ASEAN and China stand to gain from this new single market.
